Games for Change and The New York Public Library invite you to a special evening of inspiring thought, empowering gameplay, and a book signing with award-winning game maker and best-selling author Jane McGonigal.
Jane will speak about a decade’s worth of scientific research into the ways all games change how we respond to stress, challenge, and pain. She’ll explain how we can cultivate new powers of recovery and resilience in everyday life simply by adopting a more “gameful” mindset, and bring the same psychological strengths we naturally display when we play games to real-world goals.
Following her talk, she will sign copies of her second book Superbetter. This new book will be available for purchase at these events.
We’ll also host a Games for Change Arcade, with a selection of games that inspire players to embark on or continue their own journey to become superbetter.
For this event, guests are required to use the 42nd Street entrance, since the main entrance to the library on Fifth Avenue will be closed after 6 p.m.
Busy this night? Jane will also be speaking at NYU Game Center on September 16.
